Viewing Eagles on Mull
Mull Magic Wildlife
Mull
Magic Wildlife offers visitors to the Isle of Mull a chance to
view White-tailed Eagle and Golden Eagle, during a special
‘Eagle Walk’ in the island’s remote and desolate heartland. The
raw and rugged uplands of Mull represent a truly wild experience
for both eagle and walker, in a prehistoric landscape forged by
fire and sculpted by ice. Nobody is more passionate or
enthusiastic about the island’s wildlife than Mull Magic. Tap
into their wealth of knowledge and marvel at the majesty of
Britain’s largest and most iconic birds of prey. Not content to
simply point out an eagle soaring above the skyline, your Mull
Magic guide will help you understand what its like to be one of
these magnificent raptors, underlining what makes Mull so
special for these birds.
A
variety of other wildlife may be seen and heard on this walk,
including breeding wetland waders, such as Curlew, Common
Sandpiper, Lapwing, Oystercatcher, Ringed Plover and Snipe, as
well as nesting songbirds, like Redstart, Skylark, Tree Pipit
and Wood Warbler.
The
Mull Magic ‘Eagle Walk’ commences at 10.00 am from Tobermory,
where you will be picked up from your accommodation and
transported to the start of the walk. Guests can be picked up en
route between Tobermory and Salen by prior arrangement. Although
the walk is easy graded (maximum 5 miles on flat terrain)
walking boots are essential, as the track can become wet and
muddy after heavy rainfall. You will also require suitable
clothing (preferably waterproof) in respect of the prevailing
weather conditions and a small rucksack in which to carry your
lunch and any personal items. It is highly recommended that you
bring binoculars, although Mull Magic carries a telescope and
spare binoculars for the use of their guests.
The
cost of this ‘Eagle Walk’ is £37.50, which includes door-to-door
pick up and drop off in Tobermory and Salen, as well as the
renowned Mull Magic lunch of home-made hot soup, filled roll and
cake, packed with delicious locally sourced ingredients. Enjoy
the services of a top- rated walk leader and wildlife expert,
who will endeavour to provide you with a flavour of the magic of
Mull…a truly Mull Magic experience!
